REFLEXOLOGY - ACUPRESSURE

Reflexology-Chichester-acupressureReflexology has been around for about 4000 years and has become a popular holistic alternative therapy in the UK during recent years. It should not be used to replace medicine but should be regarded as complimentary to it. Reflexology is a healing art that uses acupressure & massage on feet, hands or ears to promote relaxation, treat illness and stimulate body’s ability to heal itself.

It is a safe, natural therapy for all ages that can boost energy, help the immune system and create a stronger body and calmer mind. Did you know that when you apply reflexology, you stimulate 7,000 nerves in the feet.

During reflexology session, the various pressure points are massaged, pressed and stimulated (also involves use of magnetic impulse system which is like Acupunture but without the use of needles to stimulate these points) to unblock energy channels in the body, so as to bring optimal balance of physical & mental well being. It restores & maintains health by relieving the body of toxins.

For example, by working on the head reflex (which is found on the big toe) you can activate the body’s own healing processes to help alleviate headaches. The right foot and hands represent the right side of the body, while the left foot and hand represent the left side.

Apart from hands & feet, there are various meridians or energy channels or secondary reflex centres, present all over the human body. These are stimulated by acupressure and magnetic impulse system which compliments reflexology treatment. Main purpose of this therapy is to arouse immense invisible physical & mental energy in the body to restore health & keep body in perfect order. If there is a block of the body’s energy, it will have an effect on any organ or part of the body within that particular zone. If a reflexologist finds sensitivity in one spot of the feet or hands, this indicates an imbalance in the entire length of that zone.
