Quality and thickness of Hair Extensions

I use very high quality (Premium) Remy 100% human hair extensions which is suitable for European hair. I try to blend them with your hair.

There are several ways of applying PROFESSIONAL Hair Extensions. These are described as below:

Prebonded Hair Extensions

Prebonded-Hair-extensions-angie-radiance-chichesterPre-bonded Remy Hair Extensions are the most commonly used type of hair extensions. It is quite common in celebrities. Pre-bonded 100% human individual Remy hair extensions of premium quality are applied to your natural hair. This uses individual Hair strands to apply to your hair.

Keratin a protein of which natural hair is made of. The Keratin bonds which bind to the clients natural hair during application process are discrete and completely comfortable. Provided, you have looked after your extensions well they should last up to 5 to 6 months. This gives a more natural feeling to you hair and you hardly feel that you had extensions applied.

Tape-in Hair Extensions

Tape extensions involves using a 4 cm wide tape wefts that are applied back to back, with the clients hair sandwiched in between.

Tape-In Hair Extensions is a great way of applying hair extensions that is growing very quickly in popularity.

The method is suitable for all hair types, and adds instant volume and length in less time. The tapes can be readjusted after 6 to 8 weeks by reapplying them with new tapes. You can also change the colour of the tape-in hair extensions and go for a whole new set at 6 – 8 weeks as their prices are less as compared to pre-bonded hair extensions, still giving you full freedom of your hair.Removal is quick and easy and also safe.

Micro-ring Hair Extensions

If you are looking for Micro-ring hair extensions then I can also do them for you. You will have to bring your own micro-ring hair extensions.

  • Maintenance of your Hair Extensions includes checking the hair extensions by your hair extensionist, taking off and removing the loose extensions and reapplying them. This is recommended every 4-6 weeks. During this session your extensions are checked for any tangles, and to see that they are not matted. Hair bonding is checked, and if loose they are reapplied.
  • If some hair strands are worn out or missing then they would be topped up. Also you may need another row of Hair Extensions because since your last extensions were applied your hair may have grown and can take another layer of extensions.
  • Hair extensions we use are 100% human hair, but they are devoid of any nutrient supply from our scalp, unlike our own natural hair. So they need to be looked after well.
  • I strongly recommend to have regular maintenance check. You would need maintenance after 4-6 weeks.

FIRST 1 – 2 weeks

  • After Hair extension application do not wash hair for at least 3 – 4 days. Allow bonds to fully set. Dry shampoo may be used for this period, avoiding the bonds.
  • Expect some discomfort for the first 2 weeks or so. Your scalp needs to get used to the extra weight of the hair that has been applied. So please be patient and avoid the knee jerk reaction.

Swimming & Other Activities:

  • Always tie hair back when swimming, sunbathing, sleeping or taking part in sports.
  • You may put your hair into a soft plait keep cuticle from rubbing together and causing friction.
  • If you are wearing tight headgear example when horseriding, motorbiking you may experience softening and flattening of the bonds.

Washing – Shampoo – Conditioner

  • Wash your hair extensions between 2 – 3 times per week.
  • Wash hair in the shower removing all tangles with a specialist hair extension brush first.
  • It is strongly advised that you use a specialist in extensions shampoo and conditioner.
  • Commercial shampoos can weaken the Hair extension bonds. Also conditioners, sprays, mousse, gels or conditioning agents act on the bonds and they will become softer and may slip. If you choose to do so I cannot be held responsible for the longevity of the bonds.
  • Stroke the shampoo down the hair, squeeze gently, do not rub.
  • Lift the hair and apply soap suds to the nape area.
  • Do not leave any conditioner or similar leave in products in your hair overnight.
  • An itchy scalp signifies you have not rinsed thoroughly, or that your scalp is getting used to the extra weight attached to your hair.
  • Wash hair in the shower with head back – do not put your head forward over a bath/basin to wash.
  • Wash hair with gentle smoothing action, not scrubbing and pat dry but do not rub.
  • We recommend X-10 Hair Extension Care Conditioner, X-10 Hair Extension Care Shampoo, X-10 Hair Extension Leave in Treatment, X-10 Hair Extension Shine Spray.

Brushing

  • When brushing extensions always support them with one hand. Over vigourous brushing will cause breakage.
  • Seperate your extensions regulary so matting does not occur. It is best to do this when the extensions are wet. Seperate each bond from its partner all the way along the rows, horizontally & vertically. Do this each time you wash your hair.
  • Do not go to bed with wet hair as it may tangle.
  • Use heat protection spray when using straighteners, hair crimpers, heated hair rollers on hair extensions.
  • Do not use heat treatments on your hair very frequently as it can affect the longevity of hair extensions.

Sleeping

  • At night before going to bed always make a ponytail (but not at the root) or tie your hair into a plait.
  • NEVER go to bed with loose hair as they will get matted.
  • NEVER go to bed with wet hair.

Colouring Your Hair Extensions

  • We do not recommend colouring, perming the hair extensions. These products have ingredients which are harmful to the hair extensions.
  • Any colouring of your own hair be done at least two weeks prior to the application of bonds.
  • If hair is to be permed this must also be done 2 weeks prior to application of the extensions.
  • Once extensions have been fitted you may colour around your own hairline and on the roots of the parting.
  • Do not allow solution to get on extensions.

Hair Loss & Longevity

  • In very rare, extreme cases, 1 in 50,000 clients have experienced a small amount of hair loss because hair roots were too weak to support the bond. Unfortunately this can not be determined until you wear the extensions. Your extensionist will have examined your hair and done a tensile test, however, this does not guarantee that your roots are 100% strong enough for exensions & only time will tell. It is extremely rare that this happens but must be taken into consideration. Individual hair extensions are milder to the hair than the weft or sew-in extensions.
  • You will experience some normal shedding of hair and hair extensions, but do not worry as this is quite normal. You may loose 5 – 20 extensions when brushing depending upon how careful you treat them.
  • Longevity of the extensions also depends upon the shades used. The lighter the shade, the lesser the longevity due to a bleach content. So please treat them with great care (avoid too much heat application).
  • We normally shed about 50 – 100 natural hair/day. In case of extensions in place these shedding hair can be held by the extension bond, thereby would not freely fall on the ground. Hence it would sometimes appear that your own hair coming out or being pulled out while the extension is in place. So DO NOT worry that it is the extensions that are pulling your hair out.
  • I use 100% Remy Human Hair and they are quite safe. However, frequent dyeing and colouring of your hair can also be a cause of hair loss.

Removal of Hair Extensions

  • Please do not attempt to remove the hair extensions yourself or any of your family member.
  • Avoid tugging your extensions as this will cause damage to your own hair.
  • You should seek advice of a professional. Hair extension removal needs expert to remove them and need special products. AVOID using acetone as it dries and damages the hair.

Any Problems With Your Hair Extensions?

  • In case if you are having problems with the hair extensions, then do let me know. I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE if you went to another Hair Extensionist, and had your hair extensions removed or looked at rather than coming back to me if you genuinely had problems.
  • If you have decided to have your Hair extensions removed elsewhere (or already got them removed elsewhere), then I won’t be responsible for that.
  • If you are not following the after care and maintenance advice then you are risking the longevity of your hair extensions and I will not be responsible for this.
  • I hope that you have read and understood the above information on Hair Extensions and their maintenance, after care, limitations and pros and cons and feel satisfied and consented to go ahead with the application of Hair Extensions.
